This area of Spain has its own charm; the local spanish culture will captivate you with its santa semana parades and fiestas. There fiestas , take place in the local villages throughout the spring, and summer months , everyone is welcome and the music and entertainment are free for all to enjoy, indeed the young and the old dance away together untill the early hours. Even a small village bursts at the seams with people as the spanish oragnise buses to the fiestas.
Arboleas has all facilities for everyday living, there is a butcher, baker, supermarkets, paper shop, chemist, post office, two banks, bars and resturants, a weekly outdoor market on a saturday. There is a school for primary age children in the village. The village has an outdoor swimming pool that is open in the summer months and cost 1 euro for children and 2 euro for adults.
And for the golfers, there are four 18 hole golf courses nearby and at least two 9 hole golf courese locally are underway. The pace of life is unhurried and relaxed.

The Indiana is the first and only desert golf course in Europe that was
built to the full USGA specifications and quality standards of the now
famous desert courses of Arizona and California. It was designed by
Peter McEvoy. A second course on this site is planned. Approximately 70
euros green fee. Marina de la Torre (18 holes, 72 par)
Located on the coast between Garrucha and Mojacar,
it was designed by Ramón Espinosa. The course includes three lakes,
some stunning sea views and an amazing tee-off point in the hillside
overlooking the course. The driving range has views out to sea to
inspire your swing! Green fee approximately 50 euros.
Valle del Este Golf Resort (18 holes, par 73)
At Vera
is just off the A7/E15 - the main motorway that runs almost the length
of Spain. The golf course was designed by José Canales, paying careful
attention to every detail and integrating the course into the
surrounding landscape by making use of indigenous vegetation. There are
also distant views of the Mediterranean from much of the course. There is all so a bull ring.
Cortijo Grande (9 holes, with different tee-offs for 18) Located in Turre
in the foothills of the Sierra Cabrera mountains. It was designed and
opened in 1976 by the designer Paul Polansky. The relatively flat
course has its fairways lined with citrus groves of orange and lemon
trees. The undulating nature of the valley itself means that the
natural terrain and design make for an interesting and challenging
round of golf.
There are also courses at Almerimar and La Envia, south of Almeria city. Arboleas now has ten pin Bowls and a snooker hall is nearly ready, there is also the reconstruction of the Autovia to the rear of our site.
